A lifelong Liverpool fan who has terminal cancer realised a dream when he played alongside his boyhood hero Jamie Carragher in a charity match.
Neil Marshall received a special invitation from the Liverpool FC Legends to line up for them against a Fans XI at the club’s Kirkby Academy.
The 31-year-old defender, who recently brought the curtain down on his semi-professional football career with Lancaster City, relished every second as he helped the legends clinch a 7-1 victory.
As well as Carragher, Marshall was rubbing shoulders with Kop icons like Robbie Fowler, John Aldridge, Jan Molby, Alan Kennedy and Phil Neal…
